Hosting & System Care

With MarketLinx, you get full-service hosting and complete system care. We set up, administer, monitor, and maintain your entire MLS system, all on our own servers in a data center that was built from the ground up to handle the specific requirements of the real estate industry. We take care of the details so you can focus on the big picture.

Backups and Redundancy

Every MLXchange™ and TEMPO™ installation relies on a sophisticated system of backups to minimize the risk of system downtime and data loss. Each database is fully backed up at night, and transaction log backups and incremental database backups are performed at least every two hours.

Each Web cluster is deployed in an N+1 configuration, i.e., one additional server is maintained beyond those necessary to sustain full system performance under peak load. This allows a single server to fail and be repaired or replaced without impacting system performance. Similarly, the Database Servers use RAID-10 hard disk arrays to prevent disk drive failures from interfering with service, and our Data Center stocks a variety of crucial hardware components so that repairs can be made in a timely fashion

Furthermore, our Data Center maintains redundant UPS grids to help ensure continuous power in the event of a blackout, and is connected to the Internet via multiple backbone service providers.

Network Monitoring

Certified technicians at our state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC) continuously monitor the health of our clients' MLS systems using advanced network monitoring and response tools. These sophisticated tools let us monitor and proactively address server issues, eliminating service outages before they happen, and minimizing downtime when an outage does occur. The network infrastructure is managed and monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so that problems can be detected, diagnosed and resolved before they interfere with MLS operations.

MarketLinx is continually improving its NOC by automating more of its notification and recovery routines through software like HP's OpenView Network Node Manager and OpenView Operations. Additionally, SiteScope is employed to monitor the function of the Web site components and MRTG is used to graphically represent critical system measurements and to provide trending information.
