Roll-out of New User Interface

We will begin a phased rollout of the new User Interface (UI) in the coming months. All clients can receive this new enhancement at no charge! We asked many of you what you needed and wanted to see and we are now delivering it! The new UI includes a Favorites section, allowing you to create your own personal menu of favorite features and functions. Also included is the Most Recently Viewed section and a more contemporary look and feel to the screens and buttons.

Beta testing SQL 2005 Reporting Tools

By mid-November, we will have 2 accounts in beta for our latest 5.0 plus SQL 2005 reports. This is a very exciting addition and all accounts that have upgrade to 5.0 will be eligible to receive this latest addition of standard reports at no additional cost. Any customized reports that you'd like to be converted, such as invoices and statements will be billable work. Please note that certain hardware and software requirements are needed. They are SQL 2005, IIS activation for the server and Windows 2000 or later for the client workstations.

Messages and Disclaimers

How do you remind members of the annual meeting?
Need to comply with NAR or FEC disclaimer requirements on your invoices?

A new Membership Director™ enhancement lets you easily display messages and disclaimers as a part of your billing invoices or online in your MD web apps. Messages feature allow you to a easily communicate with members, convey important information and highlight association events. Disclaimers allow you to include verbiage that may be required about tax deductibility or political contributions as a part of your invoices - both online and on print invoices. For invoices, messages can be specific to charge codes included in an invoice. The message can take several forms including direct messages that appear on the screen, a hyperlink to a new window containing a message or a hyperlink to different web page.

You can add calendar specific messages to each MD web app, including:

  • Invoices - both individual and firm
  • member services portal home page
  • store sales
  • education
  • elections
  • surveys

Customers can receive the messages and disclaimer enhancement if they currently have MD web apps and are using v5.0.

Other recent online enhancements include:

  • Dynamic online charge - allows you to accept additional payments for any charge code
  • Dynamic totaling - keeps a total of all invoices selected for payment
  • Navigation anchors - anchors the MD navigation toolbar and allows viewing of all sections of MD member services portal without scrolling
  • Dynamic NAR bank info - determine which bank account at NAR receives funds

New Customers and Upgrades

MarketLinx welcomes the following new Membership Director customers:

In addition, we are pleased to announce to date we have upgraded 17 Associations/Boards to Membership Director version 5.0, and we have another 8 Associations/Board scheduled to be upgraded before the end of this year.

For planning purposes, please be aware we are now scheduling upgrades into 2008. Don't delay, call now for information, if you are interested!

Membership Director User Meetings

Over the past six months, MarketLinx has been visiting with many of you at our new Membership Director user meeting. We've held nine local events and several Webinars to help you understand where the product is going, provide helpful product information and gain your feedback.

Many of the meetings are held in conjunction with other MarketLinx events (like MLXchange, Tempo or InnoVia meetings) or during a state convention. In addition, these user session have covered new enhancements, better communication, education on specific topics and discussion of future MD direction.

So we can keep costs down (yours and ours) we try to do these at a local board office in a regional area that has a concentration of MD users. If you would like to host one and are in a location where several customers can attend, please contact Amy Nelson at anelson@marketlinx.com.

Membership Director Focus Group
